Buying contemporary art supports living artists - which is good because these are the ones with costs of living like groceries, a flat, power, and, for sure, material. All the wine and drinks in my case. Cheers.
But Art should not be egalitarian or exclusive.
The same amount of coins means different things to different people. If you have plenty, monetary values have a different reality than for others with low incomes. Or if you are an art collector, your range of possibilities is (likely) different from a person living month-by-month, who fell in love with one particular piece of art. Or if you are representing an art gallery, and need additional usage rights like digital reproduction.
